Brad Ausmus homered at the ballpark where the Burbank Tigers beat the Columbus
Crowd 7 to 5.
Burbank came through with the game-winning runs in the top of the 9th inning
with 2 runs. Ausmus initiated the scoring when he delivered a solo blast
(his 1st of the season). Brian Roberts came to the plate and drew a walk.
After an out was recorded, Larry Bigbie came up and he drew a walk. Carlos
Pena followed and he drew a walk to load the bases. Coco Crisp stepped into
the box and hit a deep fly scoring the final run of the inning. For the game
Burbank out-hit Columbus 11 to 7.
T.J. Tucker(1-2) was the winner allowing no runs in 2 innings. The loss was
charged to Chris Carpenter(11-5). He was touched for 11 hits and 2 walks in
8 innings.
